Halloween candy is a tempting treat, but snacking on the fun size bars quickly adds up calories and sugar. Here are 5 tips to help you put away the candy bowl.
Freeze it
Out of sight, out of mind. Putting treats in the freezer will limit mindless snacking but will be a nice surprise when a sugar craving strikes.
Unwind with wine
Pair a piece of dark chocolate, a fun size Twix, or a bite size Snickers bar with a glass of wine. Take little nibbles in between sips and savor the moments of relaxation.
Sweeten up gifts
Use pieces of candy to fill a coffee mug or jewelry box. Bag up a handful of candies and tie with a pretty ribbon to store in the gift closet as a last minute present!
Save it for the holidays
Stuff stockings with leftover Halloween candy, decorate gingerbread houses, make candy wreaths, bake holiday treats, or stuff a piƱata for a birthday party.
Bake with it
Chop up candy bars and add them to brownies, cookies, cakes, or cupcakes. Then bring those sweet treats to a holiday party to reduce temptation around the house.
